Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has confirmed that repair works on Malaba-Kampala Railway have kicked off.
Following President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s directive to shift cargo off the Road to the Railway network, UNRA said National Entreprise Corp (NEC), a UPDF commercial arm has commenced Rehabilitation and Maintenance of 02 sections of the Malaba—Kampala line 100km and Tororo—Gulu line 375.4km. This comes after the danger posed by cargo transported by Trucks. Truck drivers have become prone to the deadly pandemics.
