Interview: Bebe Cool’s bodyguard tells of how he can do whatever it takes to save his boss

‘I was shot 6 times, i can still do it to save him’

Ahead of tomorrow’s ‘The Golden Heart Concert’ by singer Bebe Cool, we chatted with his bouncer about protecting his boss.

Abbas Kabyabyo better known as Cobra is singer Bebe Cool’s bouncer who in 2010 was seriously injured by six gun shots as he attempted to save his boss.

However, Cobra says he would still do the same to protect Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool who offered him a job in 2008.

Cobra told this website that getting a job as Bebe Cool’s head of security was a dream come.

“I loved Bebe Cool when he released his song Oga. I always dreamt of being his friend. I was still in the village but luckily a friend of mine knew Bebe Cool personally and he connected me. I was into kick boxing and karate. Bebe was instantly impressed and in September 2008, he gave me a job as a bouncer.

Ours was a first impression relationship,” Cobra said.

He was nicknamed Cobra by his father having been naughty, stubborn and a hot tamper at a tender age, “Just like the cobra snake, I never quit.”

The bouncer is a family man with a wife and three children. He also has a part job of selling cars and teaching fitness at his gym in Wandegeya.

For a decade he has worked for the Gagamel President, Cobra says he was been able to meet important people in Uganda and across the world.

“Meeting Bebe Cool is the best thing to ever happen to me,” he said.

Depending on the nature of his job (showbiz) it is surprising that Cobra is a born again. He adds that this has helped him to keep a sober mind, and make sober decisions while executing his work.

Although his boss is top artiste in the country, Cobra’s other favourite musician is Fred Sebatta.

He describes tomorrow’s music concert ‘The Golden Heart’ which will be hosted by Bebe Cool at Kololo Independence Grounds as super thrilling.

The show will be attended by prominent citizens who among others include President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

The concert is partly a charity event aiming at fundraising money to treat five kids with heart complications in India.

This mega concert is slated for tomorrow Friday- August 3, 2018 with a table at UGX 5m and ordinary at 100k.
