Ibanda: Kagongo Division has received a boost in livelihood support after Hon. Jovrine Kaliisa Kyomukama, Ibanda District Woman Member of Parliament, distributed 30 piglets to ward chairpersons across the division.
The beneficiaries include chairpersons from Nyakatokye, Rwensuri, Rugazi, Kashagura, and Kikucu wards.
Hon. Kaliisa urged the leaders to rear the piglets diligently, noting that piggery can provide a sustainable source of income and improve household welfare.

To ensure the animals thrive, District Veterinary Doctor Tito Mugabe conducted a practical training session on piglet care and management. He also encouraged the chairpersons to reach out to him for any technical guidance as they raise the animals.

The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to promote agricultural enterprises at the grassroots and empower local leaders to model income-generating projects in their communities.
