Ibanda Crime of passion: LC1 chairperson murdered his wife and later committed suicide

Police in Ibanda district is investigating circumstance under which LCI chairperson yesterday murdered his wife and later committed suicide.

The District Police Commander Ibanda, Emily Angomoku has identified the perpetrator as Frank Tibesigwa aged 58 the longest serving LCI chairperson for Kiburara A in Ishongororo town council who committed suicide after murdering his wife Rosette Mpumwire aged 30 all residents of the same village.

Angomoku confirmed the incident saying that it was unfortunate to children and relatives to lose two people at ago.

The Ibanda Resident district Commissioner Mr. Eliasto Akatuheebwa condemned acts of murder and suicide among people in the district.

Stella Komungaro a daughter to the deceased said that he heard his mother crying for help when she rushed to check on her mother she found her breathing last. His father took off with rat poison he bought five month back and committee’s suicide.

Meanwhile, Pius Mwesigwa a brother to Rosette Mpumwire attributed this

to domestic violence.
