How Uganda was named Pearl of Africa as Busoga Tourism Minister Hellen calls for prioritising of Jinja as a Tourism City
The Busoga Kingdom Tourism and Heritage Minister Hon. Hellen Olga Namutamba has said Busoga Region should have a bigger stake in Uganda Tourism through prioritising Jinja as the Tourism City.
Busoga is the official home of source of the Nile, located in Jinja as the river flows out of Lake Victoria to start 4132 miles journey to Mediterranean Sea.
River Nile big water falls provide adventure experiences like white water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking, canoeing, speed boat jets and swimming and these have attracted thousands of tourists from across the globe.
It is reported that the beauty of the Ripon Falls at the River Nile was part of the reasons why Church Winston named Uganda the Pearl of Africa.
The region also boasts of several other tourism sites like Kagulu Rockland many others.
With all the above, the Hon. Hellen reasons out that Busoga Region should have a bigger stake in the Uganda Tourism sector through prioritising Jinja as Tourism City.
