Government Chief Whip Hon Thomas Tayebwa hails reopening of Rwanda/Uganda border
Government Chief Whip Hon Thomas Tayebwa has said the reopening of Rwanda/Uganda border at end of this month is a step in the right direction towards normalizing the relationship between the two countries.
Rwanda Government announced yesterday that Gatuna border will be reopened on January 31st 2022. This comes after a meeting between Rwanda’s president Paul Kagame and Uganda’s First son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
Hon. Thomas Tayebwa who also doubles as MP for Ruhinda North County in Mitooma District has thanked the leaders of the two countries for the goodwill.
“This is a step in the right direction towards normalizing Uganda-Rwanda relations. Thank you Kaguta Museveni and Paul Kagame for the goodwill. I knew the barriers would be broken the moment I saw Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba step his foot in Kigali. As citizens, we must support these efforts,” Hon Thomas Tayebwa said.
