Frank Tumwebaze Clarifies On The Picture With Amama Mbabazi

The Minister in charge of the presidency and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has clarified on the picture circulating on social media of him, his family with Amama Mbabazi and wife Jacqueline. The minister released an official statement today giving a brief story about the picture as below;Frank Tumwebaze and family in a pose with Amama Mbabazi and wife Jacqueline Mbabazi

“Apparently there is a photo of myself, Hon Amaama mbabazi, his wife and my family being wired around trying to insinuate that Hon Amama Mbabazi, was my mentor and now am against him. All that is false and cheap propaganda. First of all, even if Hon Amama Mbabazi had mentored me, disagreeing with him on principle is no problem. If that was to be the case, them himself wouldn’t be disagreeing with his chief mentor President Museveni. While I salute Hon Mbabazi as a senior comrade of NRM, I can never fail to challenge his views especially those that contradict the tenets of our political beliefs and on which we disagree.

Below however, is a brief story about the photo being circulated. The said photo is a new vision file photo taken in 2012. It was taken when Hon Mbabazi and his wife came to officiate at my ministerial swearing in dinner organized for me by friends at Protea Hotel in November 2012 to congratulate me upon a ministerial appointment and eventual swearing in. My family too was there and we took many photos with many other guests and friends. New vision carried that photo in its pictorial with many other photos of other guests, the following day after the dinner. Mbabazi was invited then in his capacity as PM and SG of NRM and not as my mentor. I surely know who my mentors are and will speak about them at another occasion one day. So let no story be cooked out of that”, Frank K Tumwebaze said.
