

Former Uganda Cranes defender sets her goals on developing Women Football in Uganda
Former Uganda Crested Cranes player Jean Sseninde Namayega has come to rescue of Women Football in Uganda.
The former defender who also played for European clubs like Queens Park Rangers Ladies Football Club, Crystal Palace Ladies Football Club, Charlton Athletic Women’s Football Club and London Phoenix Ladies Football Club has been a pillar in developing Women football in Uganda by establishing organizations aiming at developing women football from the grassroots.
She started with the Sseninde Foundation which aimed at identifying and grooming talent among the young girls in schools and communities, this was made possible through the Sseninde Women’s Development Cup.
She later she unveiled the Jean Sseninde United Limited with four main arms :
The Jean Sseninde United Academy and Jean Sseninde United Football Senior Team have nicknamed Red Ants with a vision of creating opportunities for girls and women to play professional football by 2030.
Jean Sseninde Football Consultancy to advise and develop the best football policies for various football organizations and stakeholders.

And finally, the Sports Events Management organize football events on behalf of football organizations and stakeholders such as tournaments, football matches, awards and leagues.
Jean Sseninde United last month announced their plans to help all Uganda women football clubs that might need support with developing a football strategy and implementation plans.
In a bid to grow the game wholesomely, the company whose vision is to create opportunities for all girls and women to play football from grassroots to the professional level has for the first time opened its consultancy section to all Uganda women football clubs and teams.
“We aim to work and support all teams regardless of what level they participate in – from the Super League down to regions. We want to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to turn their vision into reality. We want to support where we can so that women’s football in our country shines,” Jean Sseninde, the director of the organisation, said.
She also added that: “It is essential for any club, team or organisation to have a sustainable strategy and an implementation plan to succeed,”.
