Ford Ranger Raptor Debuts in Uganda
The Cooper Motor Corporation (CMC), the official distributors of Ford in Uganda have announced that they will be unveiling the Ford Ranger Raptor next month.
Richard Musani, the Brand Manager Ford Uganda described the Ford Raptor as an ultimate pick-up truck that offers all-terrain driving with ultimate performance.
“We all know that the Ford Ranger is one of the most popular pickup trucks on the Ugandan market but when it comes the Ford Raptor none compares to it on our market. The Raptor comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a 2-litre Bi-turbo diesel engine,” Musani said adding that the engine delivers an impressive 157kW of power and 500Nm of torque.
Musani further explained that the Raptor has been built to withstand the toughest environments featuring a reinforced chassis and low-alloy steels which help it survive serious off-road hurdles. Underbody protection will also help deflect any obstacles and the new bash plate is now made from 2.3mm high strength steel.
The Ford Raptor’s suspension has been crafted to tackle tricky conditions when driving at speed and FOX shock absorbers with Position Sensitive Damping to provide higher damping forces at extremes for unparalleled off-road capabilities.
The tyres have been specially developed with a toughened side-wall offering extra protection and a unique tread pattern that helps drivers cope with all weather conditions.

While on the wheel, drivers will have six modes to choose from including the Normal mode for comfort and a Sport mode when one wants more performance from the 2.0-litre engine. Off-road, there’s the mud, rock and sand settings and the Baja Mode which tunes the driving style to offer ultimate performance when driving in tough terrain.
The Raptor boasts of a refined interior with premium leather seats offering plenty of comfort. The racy cabin features include thickly bolstered front seats, upholstered in grippy ‘technical suede’, as well as blue stitching, unique leather accents and a bespoke steering wheel with magnesium paddle levers
Imelda Kabera, the Marketing Coordinator CMC Uganda notes that the Ranger Raptor will be a force to reckon with in the Pick-up segment describing it as a class of its own.
“Everything about the Ranger Raptor builds on the already outstanding sophisticated feel and functional capability of the Ranger, and then goes further. From a driving dynamic fun standpoint, it is really an exceptionally special vehicle that is designed to flatter the novice and genuinely reward the expert,” Kabera said
