Finance Ministers gather in Addis Ababa to discuss Africa’s economic progress
The ninth Joint African Union Commission (AUC) and UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) Annual Meetings of the AU Conference of Ministers of the Economy and Finance and UNECA Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development convened in Addis Ababa Ethiopia under the theme, ‘Towards an Integrated and Coherent Approach to Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation of Agenda 2063 and the SDGs’.
The Conference discussed how countries can establish common implementation and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks, with a focus on the policies and institutions needed to transform Africa’s economies and achieve Agenda 2063 and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at national, regional and continental levels.
Ministers shared strategies for promoting sustainable long-term growth while simultaneously addressing inequality, reducing poverty and improving the living standard for all Africans.
Finance Ministers gathered in AddisAbaba Ethiopia at AU/UN-ECA Joint Conference of Ministers of Finance, 4-5 April 2016. The conference saw the launch of Africa Governance Report IV during AU/UN – ECA Finance Ministers Meeting, Addis Ababa. There was a lively debate on Investment in health/vaccination.
Hon.Fred Omach among Ugandan representatives met with The Lord Chidgey of the House of Lords, UK. The two had consultations on the impact of EU/ACP EPAs on Africa continent.
