

Court orders Police to release The Investigator News journalists
The Chief Magistrate Court at Nakawa has ordered the Uganda Police to release The Investigator News journalists Stanley Ndawula and Robert Ndawula or to produce them to court.

In a letter addressed to Inspector General of Police, Director CIID, OC CID, Kira Road Police Station and OC CID, Jinja Road Police Station Kampala, his worship Ssejjabbi Noah Norobert has ordered for the release of the duo. The application was filed by Mr. Nowamani Mark, the lawyer of the two.
“The application coming up for final disposal before His Worship Ssajjabbi Noah Norobert on this 3rd day of November, 2017 in the presence of Mr. Nowamani Mark, Counsel for the Applicants in absence of the Applicants and the State, it is hereby ordered that; Ndawula Stanley and Ndawula Robert who are currently under detention at Kira Road Police Station and Jinja Road Police Station respectively since 30th October to 3rd November, 2017, be produced in court immediately if there are any charges preferred against them or be unconditionally released immediately”.
