

Cipla QC wins Standard Chartered Bank Road to Anfield trophy
Cipla Quality Chemicals emerged the winner of the annual Standard Chartered Bank road to Anfield trophy played on Saturday at Mandela National Stadium Namboole.
Simon Mulwasira scored the lone goal that saw Cipla Quality Chemicals beat Bukedde in the final of the Standard Chartered Bank Cup, to win a trophy and fully paid trip to Anfield the home of Liverpool Football Club in May.

The winning team will be flying to Liverpool to watch the Liverpool v Watford Game on May 7 courtesy of Standard Chartered Bank.
They will also be hosted by Alyson Blackburne, The High Commissioner of the UK TO Uganda during the trip.

More than 40 teams registered for the tournament which brought together hundreds of people on Saturday. State Minister for Sports Charles Bakabulinde, Standard Chartered Bank MD Kasekende, FUFA’S Edgar Watson, British High Commissioner to Uganda Alyson Blackburne and Helen Nangonzi head of Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing at Standard Chartered Bank graced the tournament. Standard Chartered Bank is official shirt sponsor of one of England’s most successful teams (Liverpool) and the bank is committed to supporting activities in the country.
