Bebe Cool takes TB fight to Jinja

Singer and Tuberculosis (TB) ambassador Bebe Cool today an exciting day as he participated in training and engagement forum with Jinja District Health officials, district adminstration, district religious heads as well as other TB implementing partners on creative ways to enhance TB awareness and prevention within the district.

The engagement is part of the TB Reach grant activities for Amber Heart Foundation.

The singer said enthusiasm and positive attitude exhibited by all participants has been overwhelming.

“In this forum, we discovered that most health facilities did not register any TB cases not because there are no people with TB in this area but because most of these facilities do not screen patients or caretakers for the disease. We agreed that moving forward, Amber Heart Foundation will be supporting them to carry out screening for every person that visits these health centres,” Bebe Cool said.

Bebe Cool said he was excited to engage the Jinja district Khadi on how to spread the gospel of sensitizing people about TB.

“With him, we agreed that we need to utilise religious leaders to help their folk with health information that spares their lives,” he added.

The meeting agreed to fully support a free TB screening exercise at the coming ‘Oluwombo Gudigude concert’ scheduled for 26th January 2020 in Bugembe stadium.
