Over the weekend, Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) CEO, Ms Juliana Kagwa had the privilege of trekking through Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with members of the Westminster Africa Business Group, in the natural home of our majestic Mountain Gorillas.
Juliana said she witnessed firsthand what happens when you give visitors more than a safari, when you deliver a true 360 experience. The hospitality at the beautiful Nkuringo Lodge laid the perfect foundation for their two-day excursion. She said the plan was to showcase their work in conservation, local communities, and the opportunities presented by tourism development in the area but the guests experienced far more than that.

The Bwindi Impenetrable rainforest tells a truly powerful story. This national treasure clearly demonstrates that protecting nature creates jobs, supporting communities strengthens conservation, and responsible investment makes the whole system sustainable.

The Westminster Africa Business Group brings together UK-based investors, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists interested in long-term partnerships across the continent. Their presence in Bwindi reflects growing international confidence in Uganda’s tourism and conservation model.

From eco-lodge development and conservation financing to community tourism enterprises and sustainable infrastructure, the opportunity is clear: tourism is not just about visitors. It is also about investment and inclusive economic transformation.

“When global business leaders step into our rainforests and engage directly with our ecosystems and communities, the conversation shifts from theory to tangible opportunity. As we promote Uganda to the world, we must also focus on building businesses and systems that are ready for investment. And we welcome partners who see both the beauty and the business case. Great appreciation to the Uganda High Commission in UK, ably led by H.E Nimisha Madhvani for their role in making this happen,” Ms Juliana Kagwa said.
