Another win for feminists: First female station airs Kansiime one woman show in real time
In a bid to continue supporting and empowering women as well as provide fresh, exciting and entertaining content to female viewers, Spark TV, the first female centric TV channel on Thursday evening broadcast the “Iam Kansiime” one woman performance in real time.
Those who couldn’t make it to the show which cost 100K a ticket, 3 Million (a gold table for 10) and 5 Million (a platinum table of 10), had a chance to view the African queen of comedy from the comfort of their homes on Spark TV. The sister station to NTV was also one of the sponsors of the show.
Speaking on why they got involved in the show, Jackie Kamusiime, Brand Manager NTV said, “Spark is all about empowering women, and providing positive entertainment that uplifts the human spirit offering escapism.”
She added that the station continues to seek out and engage in the best and trending events.
Spark TV was launched in December 2015 and majorly provides an all-encompassing programming for young and progressive female viewers.
The “Iam Kansiime” show was well attended with guests like African Music Icon Yvonne ChakaChaka, Mike Mukula, Sylvia Owori, NSSF’s Richard Byarugaba and other celebs from the entertainment industry.
Dressed in a beautiful gown, the African Queen of comedy kicked off the show with an amazing performance of a Kigezi song which she performed alongside her sister and Mbabazi.
Kansiime then started off her skits dressed in a school uniform and her-cracking performance had fans off their seats. She was later joined by the fun Factory family who had their moment of madness when they showcased their skits which were about modern life, and marital struggles.
The gorgeous Chakachaka, also graced the occasion with her amazing performance that got everyone on their feet. The South African singer also gave Kansiime a gift for her outstanding performance.
