65-year-old farmer from Nebbi wins 1 million in Airtel Promo
Opio Solomon, a 65-year-old farmer, has won Shs1 million in the on-going Airtel Beera Millionaire Promotion.
Opio, a cotton farmer from Nebbi District, says the money is a great boost to his livelihood.
“I will buy more cows for my farm, which will provide milk for the family. We shall be able to save some money for other basic needs,” Mr Opio said.
He further commended Airtel for the promotion; “I have been using Airtel Money for transacting; Sending money and buying airtime. I am very happy that Airtel has rewarded me.
Also among today’s winners was Arinaitwe Lillian a mobile money agent from Ibanda District who was rewarded a brand new motor bike.
Rajesh Agrawal, the Airtel Uganda Networks Director encouraged Ugandans to transact using Airtel money.
“As a brand, we are committed to changing lives of Ugandans regardless of location. We have over 25 winners today and some of the winners are from as far as Nebbi in Northern Uganda. Some winners transacted as little as Shs10,000 on Airtel Money and now they have become millionaires,” Rajesh remarked.
In the Beera Millionaire Promotion, Airtel rewards all customers that carry out a financial transaction such as cash deposits and withdrawals, sending cash, buying Airtime or Data, sending cash straight from Bank to Wallet, Wallet to Bank & Bill Payments.
Upon transacting, all customers and agent numbers are uploaded into a randomizer to pick the lucky winners with five lucky customers winning 1 million shillings each (Shs5 million daily, 1 million for each) and 1 lucky customer winning Shs10 million in the weekly grand draw. Additionally, 1 lucky wins a motorbike in the weekly draw.
