Defeated Kawempe North By Election candidate Hajjat Hanifah Karadi has confirmed to us that she is set not giving up. After she was controversially refused the NRM Flag bearer ticket, Hajjat Hanifah Karadi contested as an independent where she came third in Thursday’s polls.
After a smear campaign by members of the ruling NRM prior to the polling day, Karadi has turned her attention to mobilizing for the same seat in 2026. She has called on her supporters to remain calm and united.
After all the blackmail and in fighting that she had withdrawn from the race 3 days to the election day, Karadi came third. She is determined to try again in the next year’s General Elections and wants to represent Kawempe North in the 12th Parliament.

She has accused Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja and NRM Electoral Commission chairman Mr. Tanga Odoi of fighting her Kawempe North candidature and for being sectarian.
“It was shameful to hear such words from the Prime Minister and NRM Electoral Commission chairman. They worked so hard to see me go down but this is not the end, I will continue from where i stopped,” Karadi said.
