11th ICT4D Conference aims at exploring Digital development

The Global Digital Development Conference held today 30th April 2019 at Speke Resort Munyonyo by the Catholic Relief Services CRS is aimed at exploring digital development and the evaluation from big data to responsible data across agriculture, digital diversity, health and nutrition, digital literacy, digital financial inclusion, humanitarian response and resilience, supply chain management, and water security plus a special focus on Uganda.

This is in partnership with the UGANDA MINISTRY OF ICT AND NATIONAL GUIDANCE , NRC, NET HOPE, NUDIPU ,WORLD VISION , SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES, MERCY CORPS, UNCDF, and sponsored by Airtel, Microsoft , RTI international, Eco bank, John Dere among others .

This is to involve local communities including Refugee settlement camps in and outside Uganda .

“We will use ICT to have a consolidated and integrated direction to support the delivery of Vision 2040, which vision is anchored on five pillars namely Infrastructure, Digital services , cyber security ,digital inclusion in citizen empowerment, and research and innovation,” Peter Julius Torach , the Commissioner Ministry of ICT & National Guidance .
