Young Comedians Accuse Seniors Of Exploitation
Upcoming stand up comedians have accused their seniors of exploitation at Theatre La Bonita on every Wednesday. The weekly Wednesday comedy show is directed by former crackers comedians Emmanuel Ssebakigye, Cotilda Inapo and Daniel Omara despite good turn ups at the shows every week, these guys do not value the new talented comedians (mainly The Punchliners) who feature on their show.
Emmanuel Ssebakigye and his group have been accused of exploiting young comedians
“Imagine they give MC Kapale 500k before stepping on the stage but give young comedians 20k each. This was even worse when they invited Ken van Muk from Fun factory to be the guest performer but despite him having a good show, he was given 60k only, the guy tried calling the organisers of the show but their numbers were off,” an upcoming comedian said. He later posted on his Facebook how he was disappointed by the organizers.
Umar Gocher said they are not going to perform at La Bonita again unless they are given enough money
Upcoming standup comedians have decided to boycott Haha La Bonita show. Umar Gocher, one of the regular performers at the haha show he had this to say,” Those guys do not value our efforts, in fact they are so greedy have performed at La Bonita for some good time but those guys have been feeding us on promises only. People come to watch us but we aren’t gaining anything! Fame without money is useless; we won’t perform there again unless they pay us what we are worth of,”
