Why Hon. Bashongoka Mary Kamaduuka should be voted as Western Region MP for Older Persons

The Elections for the Member of Parliament for Elder Persons on NRM ticket are due tomorrow at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds and Hon Bashongoka Mary Kamaduuka is battling it out with former Premier Amama Mbabazi’s wife Jackline Mbabazi among others.

Mary Kamaduuka is in a comfortable lead in the race to win the Western Region MP seat for Elderly.

Here is Why she should be voted to the seat

With her logo caring for every elderly person, she has had a vibrant campaign and packaged what she intends to do for her voters well.

Hon Kamaduuka is a primary school teacher by training who has taught so many Ugandans in different schools and most of her students are in high offices as ministers, permanent secretaries , UN Envoys so she knows how to care.

She has been on the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Bushenyi District councillor, Buhweju District speaker and Board chairperson for different Government institutions and schools.

She wants to lobby government to introduce health insurance scheme for the older persons and also wants government to reduce the age for accessing SAGE money from 80 years to 75 years and lobby to increase monthly SAGE money from UGX 25, 000 to 50,000.

She also intends to lobby government to add more money in elderly peoples SACCOs and increased transparency and accountability in the leadership of older persons.

“Trust me your vote will not go to waste,” she says.
