UNICEF, Local Artists Sing To Advocate For The Rights Of The Child

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) together with local artists will launch the ‘Imagine Campaign’ that aims at raising awareness of child rights and helps raise millions to help children, using a new mobile application to record a version of one of the world’s beloved songs ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon.Irene NtaleIrene Ntale

The function is slated for this Thursday, November 27, 2014 at 12:30 noon – 1:30 pm at UNICEF Uganda Office Building, Plot 9, George Street, Kampala, 5th Floor Conference Room. UNICEF received permission to use John Lennon’s inspirational song, IMAGINE, to lead the global Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC@25) commemoration events. The song is meant to generate significant public awareness and raise much needed funds in support of children’s rights. In Uganda, the IMAGINE campaign will be officially launched at this event where local artists will record their version of the ‘Imagine’ song and their ‘I imagine….’ statement as they call on the rest of the world to join the campaign.
