Uganda’s ‘Badman’ Talks About His Music
Mugisha Abubakar better known by his stage name N0. 1 Suspect Badman is one of the most promising Ugandan reggae artists who has already made a mark in the music industry under his label Squad Undercover Crew.

SU: Who is Badman?
Badman: I am no.1 Suspect Badman. I am a Ugandan reggae dancehall musician based in Cape Town South Africa. I started music career not so long about three years ago. I come from Ruhaama, Ntungamo but grew from Kasubi Nabulagala where my family lives. I went to Kanyanya and Mengo primary schools before I did High school in Kenya. From Kenya, I went to school of music in Cape Town from where I later started my music career.
SU: Tell us about your music?
Badman: I am more in reggae and dancehall music as i earlier said. I teach through my talent by singing educative message in music for the better change of our daily life and issues at hand. i do my music in many languages but still international music though i try to be on point as in English and our local languages. I basically mix for all to follow and know what message i intend to deliver. I write Swahili, English, Luganda, Runyankole, Kinyarwanda in which i managed to make hit song titled ‘Wine Glass’ that was performed at Ug-Rwanda night last year at Club Venom.
I have done music work with Bobi Wine and am also doing a collabo with Eddie Kenzo and Facee Off, Bushooke and other South African artists.
SU: What are your plans?
Badman: My plan is to perform and launch my music in Uganda and East Africa at large in the near future (very soon). I will also be heading to German with Azania band this year for some music shows.
SU: Are you seeing someone?
Badman: My concentration at the moment is on my music career. I want to first build an empire for music, and then the rest will follow. Thank you Showbiz Uganda.
