Uganda Waragi reawakens DJ Nimrod Beach Parties

If you didn’t know who DJ Nimrod is, then Spenah Beach Entebbe was a good place to find out. Why you ask? It takes an established brand to pull off the massive crowd that Galaxy FM’s Deejay Nimrod gathered for his All White Party.

With support from Uganda Waragi, DJ Nimrod (real name Nimrod Nabeeta) held his biggest and best beach party since he took the chance four years ago. Young and old, the beach front was dotted with revellers in various fashions of white. From young boys and girls trying to make a fashion statement to the men and women making a splash in the dirty algae filled lake water, everyone was having fun in their own way. The newly launched Uganda Waragi Pineapple was also being introduced to the beach goers, served as cocktail or straight as shots.

The party attracted some of the best artistes and singers on the scene today including Fefe Busi, Fik Fameica, Spice Diana, Lydia Jasmine, Bebe Cool, Chance Nalubega.

When Fefe Busi stepped on the stage, the crowd’s massive welcome confirms without a doubt that he is well on his way to stardom on Uganda’s hip hop scene if he maintains his flow, relevance and consistence. Not only has he woken up the once sleepy hip hop genre, Fefe Busi has also redefined crowd engagement. His free style hip hop performances on stage are especially engaging, not just for the crowd but for many of his contemporaries who he challenges to a battle. This is the kind of performance that calls for creativity, and Fefe Busi never fails. He also took the crowd through his best hits from, Who is Who, to Idi Amin, Business and many more.

Fik Fameica has also stepped onto the entertainment scene and claimed his place amongst the biggest names right now. In fact, it is safe to say that he has replaced so many yesteryear artistes who have gone into hibernation. His performance was as entertaining as it was engaging.

But the young lads still have a lot of catching up to do with old timers Bebe Cool and Chance Nalubega. Bebe Cool still commands respect, 20 years into his music career today. His performances are as energetic as they were 20 years ago. It is clear he has progressed from his disrespectful table top performances, but he still gives the crowd what they are yarning for. Running wild with the dancers and grinding on stage with the girls like a Fefe Busi who has just found fame. He also performed at length a range of his hits including his hit of the moment, Katono, Ndi Wuwo, I do, Teka Sente, Mbozi Za Malwa and many more.

It was Chance Nalubega who was the surprise of the day. A rarity for a beach crowd, Nalubega will forever be etched in the many hearts of Ugandan revellers. Her hits which are well over a decade old continue to command audience attention especially Abateesi and Abenugu.

Deejay Nimrod says that every year his brand grows and his fan base doubles.

“I never expect people that come for my parties and every year I get overwhelmed by the turn up. Each year I have different artists coming to entertain the fans and this year we have Chance Nalubega. She has never performed for a crowd at any beach and this then makes it her first performance at the beach. I am glad people still love her,” Nimrod Nabeera says.
