Tusker Malt Lager introduces a festive feel to the 17th edition of Blankets and Wine Kampala
All preparations are in the final stages for the 17th edition of this year’s premier Afro-based musical festival, Blankets and Wine Kampala, powered by Tusker Malt Lager. The event will play host to more than ten artists and deejays from around East Africa.
Introducing a festival kind of experience to this edition of Blankets and Wine Kampala, Tusker Malt Lager will provide everyone with something to look forward to. When the gates open at 12pm, there will be nonstop entertainment till late.
The first event of what is many more to come this year, will be held at Lugogo Cricket Oval on 30th April, and will provide a stage to a number of thrilling artists and deejays that will include; Muthoni the Drummer Queen, Daniel Lemma & Hot This Year, Fena Gitu, Kager Mungai, Pelindah, Byg Ben, Apio Moro, Joash, Mayonde, Essie, DJ Beekay & RPM, DJ Rachel and local stars Cindy and Afrigo Band to close the show.
Many of the artists will be performing at Blankets and Wine Kampala for the first time and all promise to put up performances that will have the fans on their feet all day.
In Cindy, revelers should expect an electrifying performance as she sets to show-off her ever energetic dance moves.
The timeless Afrigo Band will once again be back to share with their fans a more than 40-year musical experience with their new and old music. Many will look to dance to some of their classics such as; Sikulimba, Musa, Nnemeddwa, Sipiidi Kendeeza, Onnemye, among others.
Maureen Rutabingwa, the Brand Manager Tusker Malt Lager said; “The Blankets and Wine Kampala experience only keeps getting bigger and better. We now look to add a twist to the fun-filled experience by providing our consumers with more acts and an extended performance time. The lineup is composed of outstanding musicians in the emerging genres of afro-based music and new up-coming Ugandan artists that are doing things differently and will most definitely put Uganda on the musical map. We appreciate our consumers and thus give them a chance to enjoy the rich African talent through live performances.” she added.
“So prepare to your mats, picnic baskets complete with some ice cold Tusker Malt Lager and we shall be heading to the Lugogo Cricket Oval to enjoy the sun and good music.” Rutabingwa remarked.
Entrance fee is 100,000 UGX at the Lugogo Cricket Oval and gates open at 12:00pm on Sunday April 30, 2017.
In line with its support for responsible drinking, Tusker Malt Lager will be maintaining a strict ‘OVER 18 only’ policy for sale of alcohol.
