

Tumwebaze opens Cyber Lab at Isbat University
The Minister of ICT and National Guidance Hon. Frank Tumwebaze yesterday presided over the opening of a Cyber Lab at Isbat University.
The minister also awarded certificates to some students who excelled in data science. He said he was very happy and pleased to see innovation in information technology taking shape in Uganda. He called on the entire University to do more on innovation and excel saying security IT systems and data is paramount.
“Very pleased this afternoon to open a cyber Lab (Cyber Vault) of Isbat University and award certificates to some of their best excelling students in data science. Securing our IT systems and data is as paramount as securing our physical borders, air and water spaces,” Frank said.
The state of the art lab is the first of its kind in the Eastern & Central Africa. The facility and the technocrats are ready to take on any challenges related to Cyber Security, Cyber Forensic, Data Centre management and Data Sciences.
