Ugandan safety tech startup ProofPing announces its official East African launch in Kampala

Kampala: ProofPing, the personal safety and emergency alert application has officially launched in Uganda and East Africa. It is built around the simple but powerful idea that someone is always got your back.

The launch held at a press conference at Mestil Hotel and Residences Kampala yesterday Tuesday 24th March 2026. The presser brought together technology innovators, public health advocates, government stakeholders, and media as they were introduced to a product that addresses one of the most overlooked safety challenges of our time.

What is ProofPing?

ProofPing is a daily check-in application that gives users loved one’s real-time peace of mind. Each day, users receive a simple reminder to tap “I’m Good.” If they don’t respond within their chosen window, ProofPing automatically alerts their emergency contacts with the user’s precise location so that help can reach them immediately in case it is needed.

Also to note is that the application requires No SOS button and No manual call. The system acts on inaction which is often the truest signal that something is wrong.

Key Features

• Emergency Medical Vault —Provides medical info accessible to first responders instantly.• Automatic Location Alert —Gives precise address sent to contacts the moment an alert trigger.

• Passive Emergency Detection — no button required; monitors for non-response
automatically.

• Up to five Emergency Contacts — simultaneous SMS and email alerts

• Travel Mode — Increased check-in frequency for solo travelers and field workers.

• Circle Dashboard — loved ones monitor check-in status in real time.

WHY IT MATTERS — A GLOBAL PROBLEM, A UGANDAN SOLUTION

ProofPing was built in Uganda, for the world. Every year, thousands of East Africans travel to the Middle East to countries like Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait as domestic workers and labourers, living in isolation far from family.

Families back home sometimes go weeks without word. And in the worst cases, they never find out what happened.

The same is true for the Ugandan diaspora across the United Kingdom, Europe, Canada, and the United States and for elderly parents and vulnerable relatives left behind as urbanisation accelerates across East Africa.

• Middle East — Thousands of East African workers in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and
Kuwait living and working alone.

• UK — Over 200,000 Ugandans living abroad, worrying daily about family back home

• Canada and United States of America — Hundreds of thousands of East Africans in North

America needing daily reassurance
• Europe — Growing East African communities in Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, and
beyond.

• Globally — Over 1 billion people live in social isolation.

“Every day, thousands of East Africans travel to the Middle East, Europe, Canada, and the United States, living and working alone far from everyone who loves them. Families back home go weeks without knowing if their son or daughter is safe and sometimes, they never find out. I built ProofPing because no one should have to wait for news that never comes. This is a Ugandan solution to a problem that affects over a billion people worldwide. Today, we’re bringing it to the world. Africa doesn’t just consume technology. We build it.”Isaac Mutabazi, Founder, ProofPing.
