

Tanzania sends a 15-member contingent ahead of the ahead of the Tusker Malt Uganda Open
Ladies Open tees off on 7th September
As Uganda gets ready to host yet another edition of the Tusker Malt Uganda Open, all preparations look set for the official tee off on the 7th of September.
The 75th edition of the annual Tusker Malt Uganda Open golf tournament is scheduled for the 7th September, 2017 – 30th September, 2017 and will be taking place at the home of Uganda’s golf, the Uganda Golf Club.
Leading the Tanzania team are seasoned star players such two-time winner Angel Eaton and the highly rated Vicky Elias. Among others will be Ayne Magombe, Hawa Wanyenche, Sarah Denis, Sophia Mathias, Tanya William, Mwanaidi Ally, Chiku Elias, Rehema Athumani, Habiba Juma, Habiba Sanze, Madina Iddi, Neema Olomi and Lina Francis.

Uganda will be looking at the inform Irene Nakalembe to carry the hopes of a nation after defending champion Flavia Namakula turned pro. The handicap 5 player is ready to play and she is expected to put up stiff competition for the Tanzanians.
Zimbabwe, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and Nigeria have also sent representatives to this year’s Tusker Malt Uganda Open.

The Tusker Malt Uganda Open is expected to play host to over 150 lady players from across Africa. Maxi Byenkya, the President of the Uganda Ladies Golf Union reiterated the readiness of the teams and the Union as well as the course. All preparations have been set for a successful Open.
Tusker Malt Lager injected over UGX 500 million into this year’s tournament as assurance to show its support for the development of the game golf in Uganda. There has been an increase in the cash sponsorship from UGX 230 million to UGX 250 million.
