    Kampala: With the social calendar always filled with festivities, the month of August has literally taken the crown as the month with the biggest hip events of the year with the most recent being Shorts Na Lessu (ShoNaLe) that took place yesterday at Dungu Forest in Munyonyo.

    After three successful editions, the annual picnic style music event, Shorts Na Lessu held its fourth edition on Saturday in what turned out to be the party of the year.

    The event that started in the afternoon saw revelers enjoy different forms of entertainment as many gathered by the picturesque lakeside to witness the mind-blowing performance that Nigerian star Nonso Amadi put up.

    Amidst loud screams from the crowd, Amadi gave a special tribute to the late Radio Mozwey as he sung the deceased’s Neera song.

    The RnB star had been marked as the star attraction of the night and he did not disappoint one bit when heperformed some of his hit songs like“Go outside”, “Emergency”, “No crime”,  “Kwasia” and crowned the night with his popular hit ‘Tonight’ that was no doubt thecrowd’s favourite.The 23-year-old applauded Uganda for the love he has abundantly received.

    “I am extremely proud of how the show turned out. The performances were simply amazing and everyone who came out here was reminded yet again why Ciroc is the ultimate celebration drink,” said Annette Nakiyaga, Headof Whisky Portfolio at UBL.

    The event also featured performances from artistes including Kohen Jayce of Bantu Vibes, “Lamu” and “The Four Homies”, Lagum, Route 316 Band featuring DJ Sesse, DJ Irakooze and DJ CIZA, a virtual reality, mobile recording studio, a tattoo parlour and a mini salon that kept revelers entertained throughout.

    After three successful editions, the annual picnic style event, Shorts Na Lessu is back for its 4th edition. The announcement was made during a press launch that took place earlier today at the Dungu Resort Munyonyo lakeside.

     

    The event that includes fusions of modernity and ancient age music focusing mainly on entertainment, culture and art is slated for Saturday August 24, 2019 at Dungu Resort Munyonyo and will be held under the theme “Roots and Paradigms of Modern Living.”

    At the launch, Ciroc Vodka was unveiled as the new sponsor of the event which is set to be headlined by Nigerian star Nonso Amadi, a rising star that has garnered respect and admiration in Nigeria by collaborating with some of the country’s biggest names such as Banky W, Maleek Berry and Juls.

    “I can’t tell you how happy we are to be part of this property, Ciroc is all about celebrations especially the ones of the modern elites something that shorts_na Lessu has much of. I urgue everyone to come out it’s going to be an experience like no other with Ciroc,“said Annette Nakiyaga, Head of Whisky Portiflio, UBL.

    The star will also be performing alongside numerous Ugandan Artists like Kohen Jayce of Bantu vibes, Route 316 Band featuring DJ Siza , DJ Ssese among many others with an after party to take place at Club Guvnor.

    Tickets to the event are going for UGX50,000 advanceand UGX 80,000 at the gate.

    As ‘Sheebaholics’ found their way into Guvnor one by one on Saturday night for Sheebah`s ‘Mummu Yo’ video premiere, the queen herself was someone concocting a performance that would leave her audience beaming with content.

    In the wee hours of Sunday morning, the ‘Beera nange’ singer made her way onto the stage after performances from TNS` Topic Kasente and Roden y Kabako. Her animated introduction was enough to prepare revelers for what was about to unfold as she was about to take matters to a whole different level.

    Performing household hits like ‘Embeera zo’ on which she features Rwanda`s Bruce Melody  while clad in a black coat with white hair, she occupied every inch of the stage song after song, she even spared time to help fellow artist Tip Swizzy premiere the ‘Munyiiza ‘ video on they both put in shifts.

    After the all the curtain raising was done, came the main event with Sheebah giving fans a sneak peek into the Mummy Yo video. She would then turn up the energy to do a verse before the club went dark for all the screens to play the newly Ciroc powered 4 minutes and 23 seconds video. Sheebah returns the favour by highlighting Ciroc in the song`s lyrics “Ciroc bottle gyolina yamaanyi”.

    The video roles back the ages with a classic touch and its one to leave a lasting impression on fans if you are to by the Guvnor crowd`s reaction.

    Like they say, fortune favours the bold, Sheebah Karungi lives life bold and it has become the gift that keeps giving. She must be head over heels after premium vodka brand Ciroc joined Africell as the other sponsor for Sheebah’s ‘Mummy Yo’ video premiere slated for this Saturday at Club Guvnor.

    A Source close to Sheebah has revealed that the Beera Nange singer’s partnership with Ciroc covers footing production and drinks costs for her Saturday event.

    The source goes on to suggest that Ciroc will give Sheebah close to 20 bottles of its premium vodka to enjoy with her fans on Saturday, and further disclosed that Ciroc was investing in the region of Shs25m to spice up the occasion.

    Going by snippets released in the Mummy Yo teaser, the video which was shot by Sasha Vybz reflects an antique feeling, with lots of colour on a street scene of people rushing through a light rain. According to the source, Ciroc has also promised to set off on a long working relationship with Sheebah. The Mummy Yo video premiere goes for Shs30, 000 and doors open at 9pm.

    Tinah Brad illuminates Ciroc Ultra Night with her fashion designs

    Tinah Brad, one of the nominees in the category of best stylists in the 2017 Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAs) highlighted this week’s Ciroc Ultra Night at Sky Lounge with a range of her fashion designs.

    Tinah Brad who owns the Tinah Brad fashion house is prominent for styling celebrities and politicians including model Judith Heard and Buikwe Woman Member of Parliament, Judith Babirye. She is among those nominated in the best stylist category in this year’s ASFAs, and will compete with Mavo Kampala, Abbas Kaijuka and Tazibone Solomon for the gong.

    The Ciroc Ultra Nights are held every Wednesday at Sky Lounge. Twice a month, different bars will be given the opportunity to host the event. The night was launched last week when Ciroc hosted ASFAs nominees to a party.

    “Through the Ciroc Ultra Nights we are telling Ugandans to come out and celebrate style and fashion with the ultimate luxury vodka,” Roger Agamba, Reserve and IPS Manager said.

    Ciroc has been a part of the ASFAs for three years now, having come on board as the headline sponsor of the biggest red carpet fashion affair on Uganda’s showbiz calendar in 2015.

    The annual Kampala City Festival kicked off on a high note with the charity concert that was headlined by Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz at the Kololo Ceremonial grounds on Friday.

    Away from the stage, KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi has always been one of the attractions at the city festival; from what she wears to what car she is chauffeured in, to dance strokes on stage, but this time it was all about “her” drink.

    The VVIP section with tables going for Shs3m was powered by Ciroc Vodka, the ultimate luxury celebration companion, and to celebrate the lady behind Kampala’s biggest annual social gathering, a special cocktail was crafted in her honour.

    The cocktail dubbed The Nankulu (a moniker to mean Boss Lady) was a mixture of Ciroc Vodka and passion fruit, in tribute to her passionate quest to make Kampala a better city.

    Several bigwigs in the VVIP were seen trying out The Nankulu cocktail and they nodded in approval.

    Another favourite in the VVIP tent was the City Festival cocktail crafted with Ciroc Vodka and fresh lime.

    On stage, Diamond performed  for over an hour but just as he was getting into his element after having upped the tempo, the concert had to end by midnight, because KCCA that sets the regulations to have concerts wrap by midnight had to lead by example.

    Other performers at the concert included Levixone, Da Agent, Gravity Omutujju, Irene Ntale, B2C, Winnie Nwagi and Sheebah Karungi.

    The festival continues with a rally this Saturday and climaxing with street parades and concerts on Sunday, a good day to party as it will be Independence Eve.

    Artistes always have riders before they arrive for performances. For the uninitiated, a rider is a set of requirements that must be met for the organisers. There is a technical rider about stage and sound set up and a hospitality rider about how the artiste expects to be treated. You have heard celebrities like Jennifer Lopez demanding an entire hotel to be painted white or Akon asking for black American make SUVs for his transportation.

    During his performance in Kampala recently, Nigerian star Tekno insisted on a steady supply of Ciroc vodka, both at his hotel room and backstage. Not surprising because we learnt that Tekno was appointed a Ciroc brand ambassador earlier this year. He is one of the few African celebrities attached to the luxurious vodka that was made famous by P. Diddy.

    Ciroc Brand Manager Roger Agamba was on hand to hand Tekno a Ciroc bottle on arrival at Serena and took care of the backstage hospitality with a luxurious lounge that had unlimited supply of the world’s premium vodka.

    Though the concert was organised by Bell, the organisers had no problems with Tekno’s demands because well … Ciroc and Bell fall under the same Diageo family.

    The Ciroc Uganda powered event dubbed “A Night with Mavin” saw the ‘Kukere’ hit maker perform alongside Korede Bello.

    “A Night with Mavin” was a VIP experience with a red carpet moment, plus all the glitz and glamour that is characteristic of all Ciroc celebrations.

    Revellers thronged the place to enjoy the performance that was on point. The Shs100, 000 for ticket was worth it.

Zari confirmed a new date on her social media platforms.
