Taasa Foundation boss Katia scoops humanitarian award

Taasa Foundation boss Katia Mugenzi was recently recognized with an award as a young inspiring woman trying to change the community.

The award was in recognition for her work at Kamuli School of the deaf. The children’s number continues to increase while she continues to provide support though she calls for more support from well-wishers.

Taasa Foundation’s objective is to make sure all the deaf children have access to the right education.

“We want to break the barriers caused by the stigma, we want to advocate for policy so that there are interpreters in hospitals and service centres to help the deaf but also government should invest in more schools for the deaf specifically,” Katia said.

She added that she is so passionate about these children more than anyone can understand and she is willing to do for them the best.
