Sudhir Byaruhanga wins NBL Journalism Award Again
NTV reporter Sudhir Byaruhanga has, for the second year, been named winner in the Nile Breweries Exceptional Journalism Awards 2013.
Byaruhanga’s story: ‘Fighting Graft in Uganda’ saw him win the accolade.
In the piece, Byaruhanga exhibits an ordinary story but with exceptional evidence gathering.
‘This story is told in a very simple, cheeky and almost comical manner but answers the question of evidence in what is often cited as one of the most corrupt arms of government,” Onapito Ekomoloit the Corporate Affairs Director of Nile Breweries Limited and a member of the judging panel said.
The Nile Breweries Exceptional Journalism Award was inaugurated in 2011 to recognise journalists who go the extra mile in their reporting; bringing out salient issues, showing passion, demonstrating innovation but yet staying factual.
The competition is open to all professional journalists in print, broadcast and electronic. Florence Naluyimba and Ronald Muwanga, both from NTV, were named first and second runners up respectively.

Byaruhanga was rewarded with an accolade and a cash prize of Shs1,500,000.
