Singer Bruno K dragged to Court over Defamation
Two top Executives of the American based record label ‘Black Market Records’ through their lawyers of Agaba and Company Advocates have served a letter of intention to sue to singer Bruno K real name Kigundu Bruno accusing him of uttering defamatory statements against them on his social media timeline.
In an interesting turn of events , Bruno K who was on Saturday being hosted by city entertainment presenter Kalvin Da Entertainer during his show ‘Horizon Vibe’’ aired on UBC TV was shocked to see lawyers storming the tv amidst a live show only to serve the singer with letters of intention to sue for defaming Kisame Shadrack and Mulungi Tony who top executives of the record label.
Bruno K has in the recent past been all over the media castigating Black Market Records and their management for falsely claiming copy rights of his old songs and striking off his youtube channel when he decided to part ways with them before their contract would expired.
‘’We act on behalf of Mr Mulungi Tony alias Ocean, our client herein on whose instructions we address you as hereunder’’. The 1st letter reads and continues on the 24th day September 2021 via your facebook page in the name of Bruno K UG you published a defamatory Article in which you reported verbally‘
“Tony Ocean aka Ocean Media. I have always respected you as a brother and in fact your son calls me uncle but sente zikumazeemu to the bit that gwe blocker wa label afela abayimbi nemumala nemubefulila .You are still convincing so many innocent young artists to work with this label that is based on lies and stealing from artists.The law will catch up with you and your whole team Ocean and Shadrack plus your American’.
The lawyers contend in the letter that whereas it is true that Mr Mulungi Tony works with M/s Black Market Records ,’’It is not true that our client participated in any fraudulent conduct neither did he involve himself in the above stated allegations of squandering musicians ‘ monies as no artists attached to the label has ever complained in courts of law that he/she has been ripped off their monies,” The letter read.
The second letter also reads that via his face book page,Bruno K posted that ‘’Shadrack is a junior pastor in Prophet Mbonye’s but yakulembela such bufele’.
The letters served to Bruno K contend that as a result of his publications, Shadrack and Ocean have suffered enormous anguish and inconvenience but also caused them to be shunned ,ridiculed and lowered their esteem in the eyes of the right thinking members of society hence affecting their business.
Through their lawyers, Ocean and Shadrack demand that Bruno K withdraws all the allegations published against them with an apology in clear terms on the same facebook page and an apology letter.
