Police in Kampala have arrested a woman identified as Peninah Kukunda for torturing the kid who calls her aunt to near death.

She was arrested last evening in Najjera, a Kampala suburb. Peninah is due to face action after police investigations are complete.

The kid told police that he wasn’t allowed to step outside and incase he did, she would beat the toddler with phone charger.

Kampala Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest and released the statement as below;
“Police in Najjera, Kampala, last evening rescued a kid that was being tortured by one of his relatives after a tip off by the residents.
Police got information at around around 2100 hrs yesterday (17/9/2019) that there was a woman one Kukunda Penina aged 29 years a resident of Buwate who was torturing a young boy of 6 years.
The neighbours got concerned and tried to approach her but she locked herself in her room.
When Police reached the scene the neighbours had become violent, Police Officers had to carry out community policing to cool down the tempers of the residents.
The suspect was talked too and she willingly accepted to open the door and she was arrested.
She is currently being detained at Najjera Police Station. We have preferred charges of Torture pending advice from Resident State Attorney”.
