Singer Dr. Jose Chameleone is slated to receive specialized medical care in the US, thanks to President Museveni’s support. This information was shared by State Minister for Youth, Hon Balaam Barugahara.
Balaam stated that Chameleone, who has been under care at Nakasero Hospital for several days, is considered a national treasure, prompting the President’s involvement. The events promoter expressed confidence that the singer could enjoy an additional forty years of life following this treatment.

“Chameleone is among my favorite artists, and I’ve collaborated with him for many years. I am just hoping for his swift recovery so he can return to his passion. President Museveni is also organizing for Chameleone to be transported to the US for treatment. Our goal is to help him add 40 more years to his life,” Balaam remarked.

The events promoter also commented on Chameleone’s son, Abba, who recently criticized his father’s drinking on social media. Balaam mentioned that he prefers not to pass judgment on either Chameleone or his son, stating that the son has the right to offer advice as children are meant to guide their parents..

In the meantime, President Museveni has frequently expressed his admiration for Chameleone, noting that his song Basima Ogenze is among his favorites. Chameleone has supported the NRM and has also benefitted significantly from it.

The legendary singer is due to fly to the US on Monday and will receive specialised treatment from Mercy Hospital in Maryland.
