The Uganda Police has announced the arrest of an individual known as Byaruhanga Kassim who has been impersonating a Commissioner of Police. It’s said that Byaruhanga was posing as a Commissioner known as Tumusiime and went around defrauding people.
Police revealed that this individual was apprehended by Naggalama Police. This is after the Station received a phone call back in July by a person claiming to be Commissioner Tumusiime who informed them an auction was being held by the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) in motor vehicles.

Byaruhanga who also disguised as an intelligence officer then asked the DPC to send money to certain mobile number.

“Naggalama Police on December 07, 2024 /12/2024 arrested Byaruhanga Kassim for impersonating as a Commissioner of Police and as an intelligence officer of the army.
On the 24th day of July 2024 the DPC Naggalama police division received a phone call from a person claiming to be a Commissioner of Police by the name Tumusiime and who told her that there was an auctioning exercise of motor vehicles at Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).

The following day, the purported commissioner asked the DPC to send eight hundred thousand shillings (Ugx 800,000/=) to a telephone number he claimed was for URA,” the Police statement read.
Police has now advised Ugandans to desist from such activities lest they will face it rough with the law enforcement.
