PM inspects NWSC Treatment Plant

The Rt. Hon Prime Minister of Uganda Ruhakana Rugunda has today inspected the largest sewage treatment plant in East and Central Africa under construction at Bugolobi Wankoko.

The new 45million litres per day capacity sewage treatment plant will improve sanitation and health in Kampala, treat waste water from the heavily populated Nakivubo channel, produce 630kw of power from biogas to power the plant and the rest to the grid, estimated to serve over 380,000 people.

National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) said  the project will fuel sustainability of Lake Victoria inner Murchison bay through reduction of pollution entering the lake through Nakivubo channel among many others.
