Over 50 schools participate in the 1st National Racquet and Bat games – Fresh Dairy Secondary School Games

Kampala: Over 50 secondary schools participated in the Fresh Dairy Secondary School Games – 1st Racquet and Bat games national qualifiers that took place at Lugogo indoor stadium and Kololo Secondary School on 3rd and 4th April 2019.

All the winning teams in each category (See detailed attached list) automatically qualified to take part in the National finals scheduled to take place at Mbale Secondary School from 4th to 11thMay 2019. The two teams with the highest points were:

 

National Tennis Qualifiers – Boys •      1st – Kololo S.S: 260 points

•      2nd – Kibuli S.S: 250 points

National Tennis Qualifiers – Girls •      1st – St. Marys Namagunga: 257 points

•      2nd – Gayaza High School: 248 points

Badminton National Qualifiers – Girls •      1st – Mbogo High School: 15 points

•      2nd – Rubaga Girls: 12points

Badminton National Qualifiers – Boys •      1st – Kibuli.S.S : 12points

•      2nd  – Kakungulu Memorial Sch: 12points

Table Tennis Qualifiers – Girls •      1st – Mbogo College School: 59points

•      2nd – Mbogo Mixed School: 54 points

Table Tennis Qualifiers – Boys •      1st – Mbogo College School: 59points

•      2nd – Seeta High School, Green campus: 54 poin

General Secretary – Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association Christopher Mugisha said that the games have attracted over 2500 secondary school students across the country who are competing in various disciplines to include:

Mugisha concluded by noting that the Kampala District Finals will take place at Old Kampala Secondary School for Football Girls and Basketball boys & girls on 11th April 2019, while the Wakiso District Finals will take place at Wakisha Resource Centre for Football Girls and Basketball boys & girls on 13th April 2019.
