Our Education system must evolve to incorporate AI says Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa
The Deputy Speaker Rt Hon. Thomas Tayebwa has today officially opened the Uganda Higher Education Exhibition, held at Kamukuzi, Mbarara City organized by the National Council for Higher Education.
This year’s exhibition focuses on integrating AI into our education system. In recent years, AI has become an essential part of our daily lives, and its influence will only continue to grow.
In his speech, Rt Hon. Thomas Tayebwa said our education system must evolve to incorporate AI—not only in teaching and learning but also in managing key aspects of the sector, such as data processing and administration.
“Beyond education, we must harness AI to develop innovative solutions that improve various facets of society. I left the exhibition feeling inspired after witnessing students present AI-driven ideas—many of which, if fully realized, have the potential to make a lasting impact on Uganda and Africa at large,” Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa said.
