There was drama at Parliament after two members of Parliament were involved in nasty exchange.
The MP for Kilak County in Amuru District Hon Akol Anthony met Hon. Odonga Otto of Amuuru County in Pader district in the lobby and asked him why he was telling his voters not to vote for him.
Hon Otto had over the weekend addressed a rally in the disputed Lakang land in Amuru and told voters not to vote Hon. Akol and Chairman LCV alleging that they had received over UGX 300m after selling land to government.
Hon Otto responded “Indeed he said it and its true Hon Akol sold land of the poor people in Apaa”.
Akol Anthony said it was “his land he sold” and Otto replied “I went to prison to protect poor people’s land then you as MP sells it”
Akol immediately said “I will act mad now” and punched Otto in the head.
It took the intervention of Gulu Municipality MP Hon. Komakech Lyndro to hold Akol from throwing the second punch to Otto.
Police intervened and sergeant at arms called for ambulance to rush Hon.Otto to Nakasero hospital for treatment. The CCTV cameras are quite revealing.
