NWSC warns of water supply interruptions on Tuesday

National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has warned of water supply interruptions on Tuesday 9th August due to the ongoing rehabilitation of Ggaba-Muyenga water pumping line. According to the statement released by the water body, the supply interruption will start at 8am to 8pm. NWSC has called on the general public in the affected areas to stock enough water to avoid inconveniences. Below is the statement;

“Management of National Water and Sewerage Corporation regrets to inform its esteemed customers that there will be water supply interruption tomorrow Tuesday August 9 from 8am to 8pm. This is to allow our contractor to complete rehabilitation work on the Ggaba-to Muyenga water pumping line. As a result of reduced levels expected over the 12 hour period, customers in Jinja Road, Makindye, Nsambya, Kabowa, Kololo, Mbuya, Mutungo, Bugolobi, Luzira, Kitintale, Mukono-Seeta, Kyaliwajjala, Kiira, Bombo Road, Bwaise, Kawempe, Maganjo, Kagoma, Matugga, Mpererwe, Kitezi, Namere, Rubaga, Nansana, Buloba, Mengo, will experience supply interruptions. We encourage our customers to store water and use it sparingly as our contractors carry out system improvements.
N.B Please store enough water and use it sparingly as the system takes some time to stabilize after a total plant shutdown”.

Meanwhile The Hon Minister of Water and Environment Hon Sam Cheptoris today met Masaka district stakeholders at Zebra hotel. The minister raised concerns over the rampant environmental degradation in Masaka town.
“It is very sad that the catchment has been polluted. Let’s stop taking issues of the environment for granted. We shall pay a very high price if we continue taking issues of water and Environment for granted. It is madness to destroy a forest and put up a golf course! Let’s protect the environment for a better future,” Hon Sam Cheptoris.
