NWSC MD Silver Mugisha Clears the Air on Online allegations

Kampala: National Water and Sewerage Corporation Managing Director Eng. Dr. Silver Mugisha has addressed recent allegations circulating online, saying he remains committed to transparency and accountability in his 32 years of service at the utility.

In a statement shared publicly, Mugisha said he has been following “efforts to drag @NWSCMD into certain things” and wanted to set the record straight.

“I have been at @nwsc_ug for about 32 years and we have tried to do things administratively right, albeit some gaps,” he stated.

Mugisha did not specify the exact allegations but said his focus has been on ensuring NWSC operates within established administrative and governance frameworks. He acknowledged that challenges exist but emphasized that corrective measures have consistently been pursued.

Under his leadership since 2013, NWSC has expanded water coverage and infrastructure across Uganda, with the corporation frequently cited in government reports for improved service delivery and financial performance among public utilities.

The MD urged the public and stakeholders to rely on verified information from the corporation’s official channels rather than unverified claims online.

NWSC has not issued a separate formal statement, but officials indicate that the corporation will continue engaging the public to address concerns as they arise.
