The management of National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has updates its dear Valued Customers and Stakeholders to keep them informed about the ongoing restoration works at the Entebbe Water Treatment Plant.
Current Situation
The plant has been temporarily shut down today to replace the old raw water pumps with new, higher-capacity units. This is a critical step to restore reliable and full water production for the Entebbe area.
Works are progressing well and according to plan. Pumping is expected to resume tonight.
Progress So Far Today.
1. One new pump successfully relocated from shore to the offshore intake.
2. Raw water inflow into the Intake Sump fully blocked by specialised divers.
3. New electrical control panel with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) controls at advanced stage of assembly.
4. Fabrication of specialised pipe connections (tapers) underway.
5. Installation of duck foot bends and pump guiding rails in progress.
6. Anchoring of guiding rails, bends, and delivery pipes ongoing.

A dedicated joint task force is working continuously to complete the works safely and efficiently:
1. 21 specialists from the Static Plant Team (Electro-Mechanical Engineers & Technicians)
2. 18 staff from the Entebbe Area Team

1. Water supply will remain limited until pumping resumes tonight.
2. Once the new pumps are commissioned, supply is expected to improve progressively across Entebbe.
