NWSC constructs largest sewage treatment plant in East Africa

National Water and Sewerage Corporation is constructing the largest sewage treatment plant in East Africa, we can reveal. The new plant is designed with capacity to generate 630kw of power from biogas.

The works on the plant are Ongoing and are set to be completed soon.

“We are constructing the largest sewage treatment plant in East and Central Africa in the heart of Kampala. The new plant is designed with capacity to generate 630kw of power from Biogas,” NWSC posted.


Meanwhile in a bid to improve supply in several water stressed parts of Kampala, NWSC works on the Luteete Masoli DN250 stabilisation project are on track.

The project completion time is an estimated one month.
When complete, it will boost and stabilise supply in parts of Luteete, Masooli, Wampewo, Kasangati, Nangabo and greater Gayaza.
