

NEMA teams up with Uganda’s Little Hands Go Green to celebrate World Environment Day with massive tree planting
National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) called for protection of Wild life and conservation of nature of nature.

This was on Monday during the celebration to mark World Environment Day at the national celebrations in Gulu.

Uganda’s Little Go Green boss Joseph Masembe led the tree planting exercise all the way from Kampala to Gulu
“The Kidepo project aims at strengthening the management effectiveness of Kidepo Valley National Park and the surrounding protected areas including central and local forest reserves as well as protecting the shea butter trees” – Executive Director NEMA Okurut said.

“Without wildlife our livelihoods and well being are under threat, I would therefore like to appeal to the people of northern Uganda and the entire country to protect the wildlife that Uganda is blessed with.” – Chairman Board NEMA, J.H.Nyeko Pen –Mogi.
Before national celebrations, NEMA teamed with Uganda’s Little Hands Go Green to plant trees from Kampala to Gulu. The trees were planted along Kampala – Gulu Highway.
This is seen as one of promoting nature and making the entire population preservers of nature.
