NBS TV Flags off Reporters for Polling Day Coverage

NBS Television has flagged off a team of reporters who will be charged with bringing their audience minute by minute updates on the polls. The reporters have been equipped with cameras, lights, phones, and other equipment, especially for their safety in the current political and COVID-19 climate.

Speaking shortly after the flag off, Solomon Sserwanja, a senior journalist with NBS TV, said they plan to give the viewers all the updates that are coming from the various polling stations in Uganda.

“We want you to see what is going on in real time, how the contestants are faring, how many polling stations there are, and so on,” he said.

Dalton Kaweesa, the head of news at Next Media Services, assured the viewers that they can sit back and relax and trust NBS TV to deliver timely and accurate updates.

Joe Kigozi, the Chief Strategy Officer at Next Media Services, re-echoed NBS TV’s readiness for the elections, saying the equipment and reporters were all set for the big days.

In 2016, NBS TV impressed with their 360-degree coverage and live tallying of the votes as they came in from different polling areas. They deployed their massive pool of talent across the country to make sure Ugandans didn’t miss out on any moment when it came to the elections.

For the upcoming elections, updates will be shared extensively on NBS TV’s digital platforms with the digital team also set for the challenge ahead. There will also be timely updates on Next Media’s digital news outlet, Nile Post to make sure that no one is left out. Salam TV, Nxt Radio, and Sanyuka TV will also share live updates as they come in from different parts of the country.
