NBS Television hires veteran Joachim Buwembo to curb rampant errors
Veteran journalist, Joachim Buwembo, is the latest addition at Media Plaza based Next Media Services, joining the current affairs team at the station as the Quality Control Manager, working directly with the Head of News, Joyce Bagala.
Buwembo’s last job was with Vision Group, where we understand he worked with the newsroom at Urban Television, before moving on handle their New Vision TV digital newsroom.
Despite clearly being Uganda’s most reliable breaking news and live news coverage television station, NBS Television has suffered a rather consistent vice of errors, especially on their story tags. The hiring of a Quality Control Manager therefore sounds like a reaction to curb the vice.
The appointment comes just around the same time the Top Management Team of Next Media Services, NBS Television’s parent company, took a trip to Nairobi for a planning retreat.
According to activity on their timeline, it looks like 2020 is a year for the media company, with the team of more than 10 bosses seen visiting several industry leaders such as BBC Nairobi, NRG Radio Kenya, among others.
Buwembo’s tenure at Next Media started on the 1st of January, 2020. The veteran journalist has formally written for Monitor newspaper, New Vision, The East African, authored books, among others.
