Nakyeyune through her Facebook wall yesterday criticised for singling out the maid and said her action were not unusual and it was parents to blame for the incident. Her post received over 5000 comments mostly abusing the MP aspirant.

Using the same platform, Nakyeyune issued an apology to the kid, family, Ugandans and the world at large who were offended by her post. She said she was sorry. Below is her apology statement;
Nakyeyune Joweria
“I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about the baby who was tortured by a maid, and I personally apologize to baby Amelia, her family members, Ugandans and the world at large who were offended…As a woman, a lawyer and a human rights activist it was my humble appeal that we get the side of the maid to try to understand what would have prompted to act in such crudeness and inhumanity. I want to make it clear to the public and to the family of the adorable princess that: My poorly stated comment on my wall was not about, and [was] never intended to offend you. I am sorry and i’ve paid highly.” Accept my humble apology
