MAAIF passes out 74 trainees on agricultural mechanisation

Maj. Gen. David Kasura Kyomukama  the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries yesterday afternoon passed out 74 trainees who have undertaken a wide range of trainings on agricultural mechanization at Namalere Agricultural Engineering and Appropriate Technology Research Center (AEATREC).
The training is part of Government of Uganda (GoU), through the
Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and  Fisheries (MAAIF) intervention of commercializing the agriculture sector through  agricultural mechanization and modernization at farm level.
Agriculture is the backbone of Uganda’s economy and if improved to the highest level, the economy will thrive.
The Ministry of Agriculture is working hard to achieve that.
“If they destroy these machines, they will actually be destroying themselves because they will have destroyed their jobs,” Kyomukama said.
He called on the trainees to be very careful with handling the machines and their jobs advising them to be as honest as possible.
The PS said one of the missions of Ministry of Agriculture is to end poverty among the masses using such methods of mechanized agriculture.
