MAAIF kicks off construction of Tisai Road

The Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAF) has kicked off construction of Tisai Road.
Yesterday, April 12, 2022, Hon Frank Tumwebaze together with Hon Bright Rwamirama, Hon Hellen Adoa and Hon Okasai commissioned the 7km Tisai Road choke.
This road choke is being constructed by MAAIF under the Agriculture Cluster Development project and will cost UGX 6billion.
This construction of this road which connects Kasai sub county to the Kasai Island will take 6 months to be completed.
During the commissioning , Hon Rwamirama said that the road will connect farmers to the market and once  the stretch is made, a litre of milk will be at the same price like that in Kampala.
Hon Rwamirama added that the ministry will improvise water for production, a milk cooler and a regional breeding centre.
While addressing community members at the commissioning, Hon Frank Tumwebaze said that its the communities like Tisai that feed the country that’s why agriculture funding should be prioritized.
He added that the ministry will ensure that the whole value chain is in one place.
