M7, Cabinet discuss refinery progress

The Minister of ICT and National Guidance Hon. Frank Tumwebaze who also doubles as the spokesperson of Cabinet has revealed that yesterday Monday 26th March that cabinet chaired by H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was briefed by the Minister of energy on the progress of negotiations between government of Uganda and prospective  investment consortium for the refinery.

The Minister also said that cabinet extensively discussed the proposed investment consortium agreement & gave its input. The minister of energy and attorney General were instructed accordingly to go and conclude negotiations with the investment consortium by Wednesday 28th March 2018.

“When all parties to the refinery investment agreement agree, signing of the same is expected this week. Details of the agreement will be made public after negotiations have concluded & parties agreed. The Minister of energy will be able to address the press thereafter,” Frank said.
