Local Gov’ts still lack enough funding says Hon. Betty Naluyima

Wakiso District Woman MP Hon. Betty Ethel Naluyima has decried poor funding in local governments in the country.

Hon. Betty Naluyima who doubles as the Shadow Minister for Local Government said the local governments are also facing low staffing levels, high teacher pupil ratio, poor educational infrastructure and many others.

She said this after the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee ( PAC- LG) interfaced with Districts of Mbarara region in due course of scrutinizing the Auditor General’s report. This was at Mbarara district headquarters.

“Local governments in Uganda are still grappling with low financing, low staffing levels, high teacher : pupil ratio, poor educational infrastructure, among others,” she said after the meeting.
